There are Strike customers that had to receive 3 or more replacement cymbal pads until they had something that finally worked. And if this would be the only sad fact, it is even worse. Durability of a Wedding Cakeįailing cymbals within the first few months… This became already one of the known “Strike-Issues” in the e-drum scene. Others ignore the issue, accept the situation or do not know how a hi-hat is supposed to feel. Some Strike Pro owners could only get a decent trigger result by adding a Roland VH-11 hi-hat. They made a hi-hat that looks like the flagship Roland hi-hats but functions like a cheap entry level hat. The problem with electronic hi-hats is, that only a few companies have successfully made a functioning “hi-hat – module – unit”. Alesis is not one of them. So many people do seek help to set this thing up but struggle with finding a proper solution. The biggest issue is the not well functioning hi-hat. Pads cannot pick up ghost notes, rims randomly have outages.Module freezes or dies after weeks/months or even arrived dead.(Trigger zones or choke stop working, no sensitivity, no ghost notes) Cymbals and mesh pads stop functioning after a few months or even weeks.Hi-hat pad does not trigger well and it seems to be impossible to get a decent trigger result.Hope this helps some poor lost soul with their blasting. What are Common Issues of the Alesis Strike Pro? It ain't perfect but it's honest progress.Įdit: Just went and got a separate boom stand for my ride and, combined with what I've already done, I currently have 0 phantom triggering. As of this second, my ride still will tinkle on its own a tiny bit, kick drum never misses though. Threshold stops a lot of phantom triggering and bleed. Threshold setting are also clutch, I have a decently high threshold and adjust sensitivity logarithms to get volume on double strokes, quiet dynamics, etc. Use a level on your lugs to make sure your kick is sitting level (doesn't have to be 100%, but visibly level). Doesn't need to be a lot, maybe 6 or 8 strips of tape around in a circle. Take your reso head off, place a thin layer of electrical tape on the back side of the reso head, kinda holding the skin to the metal rim of the head. As for the bass drum, this kick is a little finicky and I gave up on it for like 3 months. Tighten those bitches hard without killing your plastic. The nuts around my cable ins on the ride cymbal itself were far too loose, and this was causing a constant phantom trigger. I had the exact same issues with my SE, however, I managed to fix almost all of them myself with no compromise to anything warranty-related. This is super late, but this thread still tops Google search results so I hope I can provide someone with some solution. The software is fantastic, the hardware is just suspect. Any suggestions from you all on what I should do? I should also say that the Strike Module is amazing and the custom kits you can make are unbelievable. ![]() But, I feel like I am up shits creek without a paddle. All I want is the warranty to cover the defects of the parts of the kit that are malfunctioning. It is a bummer to play on an expensive kit that does not function properly. ![]() I even emailed the rep twice after to see if they would get in contact with me. After a few emails though they never responded back. I was in contact with one of their service reps for a few emails which I felt was a step in the right direction. I have called Alesis no fewer than 10 times and have only been able to contact a human twice. The worst part of all of this is the garbage customer service I received. One of the crash cymbals edge zones will no longer trigger at all so the bow is not the only option for that cymbal. ![]() I am assuming the sensors in the cymbal are broken. The ride cymbal will phantom trigger constantly with no fix to that either. The bass drum mis-triggers all the time despite just about every modification with the trigger settings in the module. Unfortunately I have had nothing but problems with it from the start. Hello all, I have owned to Alesis Strike Pro SE for about 6 months now.
